Job summary

STEP is seeking a Solution Architect who will lead pre-sales and delivery of consulting engagements, crafting solutions for customer Business and IT needs. This is a remote position with travel as duties dictate.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in networking and security, strong communication skills, and familiarity with industry partners and protocols. You will work with STEP CG leadership, contribute to designs, BoMs, and SOWs, and mentor peers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in layer 3 - layer 7, routing, switching, firewall, NAC, and WiFi.
• Experience with PHP, Python, RESTful APIs, Ruby, Bash, TCL, and Perl is desired.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, IP, RF, Firewall, RADIUS, IPSec, NAC, OSI model, security, and wireless.
• Experience with Extreme, Fortinet, HP/Aruba, and Palo Alto solutions is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-sales efforts providing design guidance including architecture and materials.
• Create BoMs, SOWs, and logical designs.
• Collaborate across STEP teams to deliver quality solutions.
• Troubleshoot OSI networking issues and security escalations.
• Attain manufacturer certifications as directed by STEP leadership.
• Vet new solutions with lab testing and build know-how.
• Maintain in-house and customer-facing wiki.
• Assist in broader, complex deployments when needed.
