Job summary

STEP CG is seeking a Sr. Network Solution Architect/Sales Engineer to lead pre-sales efforts in networking, security, and cellular solutions. The role supports remote work with travel and targets customers across Cincinnati, KY, and surrounding regions.

You will craft architectures, guidance, and statements of work for complex deployments as part of a larger engineering team. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in networking/security, strong communication skills and hands-on design experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in layer 3–7 networking, routing, switching, firewall, NAC, and WiFi.
• Experience with L2/L3 wired and wireless networking of Extreme (SpB/Fabric), Fortinet Solutions Suite (FortiX), and HP/Aruba (ClearPass); Palo Alto a plus.
• Proficiency in PHP, Python, RESTful APIs, Ruby, Bash, TCL, and Perl.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-sales design and guidance for architecture and BoMs.
• Create SOWs and logical designs.
• Stay up to date on networking, security, and cellular trends.
• Drive revenue through partner assessments and aligning solutions.
• Collaborate with STEP teams on deployments and customer solutions.
• Mentor and assist on complex designs and deployments.
• Maintain in-house and customer wiki.
• Troubleshoot OSI layers 1-7 to security when needed.
