Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Solutions Architect to join the Digital Native team, shaping the big data landscape by working with leading data engineering and data science teams. You will collaborate with customers, product teams, and field engineers to design architectures using our platform and APIs, guiding through best practices, and developing tech champions along the way.

Role requires strong pre-sales/consulting experience, cloud data platform knowledge, and a passion for open-source projects

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or similar pre-sales/consulting role.
• Experience building distributed data systems.
• Comfortable programming in Python and SQL.
• Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in data engineering (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) or data science/ML (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Willingness to travel to customers in your region.
• Desirable: a quantitative degree in CS, applied math, or OR; Databricks Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team and provide technical leadership to help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems.
• Consult on Big Data architectures, implement proofs-of-concept for strategic projects across data engineering, data science and ML workflows.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architects to support customers and users.
• Promote and recruit contributors for Databricks-inspired open-source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow).
