Job summary

Databricks in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Strategic Solutions Architect on the Digital Natives team to shape the future of the big data landscape by collaborating with top data engineering and data science teams.

You will partner with sales, design architectures, run proofs of concept across data engineering, data science and ML workflows, and help enterprise customers leverage the Databricks platform and open-source projects like Spark and MLflow.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, data science, architecture or pre-sales/consulting role.
• Experience building distributed data systems.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise in data engineering or data science and ML tooling (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka; pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Willing to travel to customers in your region.
• Desirable: degree in quantitative field; Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to provide technical leadership and solutions.
• Consult on Big Data architectures and implement proofs of concepts; validate integrations with cloud services and tools.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architects to support customers and users.
• Promote and recruit contributors for Databricks open-source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow).
