Job summary

Vaco is seeking a Solution Architect / Principal Engineer for a remote 6M+ contract to lead enterprise-scale network and security solution design across data center, WAN/LAN, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will own technical strategy and align with security standards and enterprise architecture.

The role requires deep networking expertise, cross-domain knowledge, and the ability to influence stakeholders while guiding multiple initiatives from design through deployment.

Qualifications

• Enterprise Infrastructure / Architecture experience across data centers, campuses, WAN/LAN and cloud.
• Experience designing enterprise networking solutions across data centers, campuses, WAN/LAN, SD-WAN and hybrid cloud.
• Strong architecture-level knowledge of network security, NGFWs, segmentation, zero trust and identity integration.
• Development of high-level designs, roadmaps and executive recommendations.
• Leadership across multiple large-scale infrastructure and security initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with industry-leading networking platforms like Cisco, Arista and Palo Alto.
• Excellent communication and influence with technical teams and executives.

• Technical Leadership / Solution Governance—Architectural oversight across multiple initiatives via standards and governance of delivery.
• Stakeholder Engagement/ Solution Alignment—Translating complex requirements into actionable technical solutions and building consensus across stakeholders.
• Engineering Leadership / Mentorship—Guiding engineers and ensuring adherence to architectural standards.
• Architecture Documentation / Design Reviews—Developing high-level and detailed designs, roadmaps and implementation plans; leading reviews.
• Strategic Advisory / Escalation Leadership—Senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and security challenges.
