Job summary
Blattner is seeking an Estimator to support competitive, technically sound proposals for utility-scale renewable energy projects. You will collaborate with Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Construction and Project Management to develop electrical solutions from opportunity through contract award.
Your day may include reviewing Owner RFPs, preparing takeoffs, assisting with electrical estimates, coordinating with EORs, utilities and vendors, and supporting estimates for substations,
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Construction, Engineering or related field or combination of related education and experience.
- Two or more years of progressive related experience in renewable construction (wind, solar or storage) or four+ years in other non-renewable construction.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Up to 25% travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required estimate contents.
- Develop a project plan and level one schedule for crew sizing and productivity.
- Issue RFPs to qualified vendors/subcontractors and evaluate bids for best value.
- Calculate quantity take-offs, material and labor costs, and compile summary reports for future estimates.
- Evaluate materials/services from qualified suppliers based on technical and commercial merits.
