Job summary

Blattner Company is seeking an Estimator to support competitive proposals for utility-scale renewables, collaborating with Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction, and PM teams. You will develop conceptual electrical solutions and assist with RFP reviews, quantity takeoffs, and vendor coordination from early opportunity through contract award.

A four-year degree in Construction or Engineering and 2+ years in renewables estimating are preferred.

Qualifications

• A four-year degree in Construction, Engineering or related field, or combinations of related education and experience required.
• Two or more years of progressive related experience in the renewable construction industry (wind, solar, or battery storage) or four or more years of practical crew based estimating experience in other non-renewable construction industries.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Up to 25% of travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required estimate contents.
• Recommend best design options based on cost, engineering, quality, or material availability.
• Develop project plan, schedule, and sequencing for crews, resources, and productivity.
• Issue RFPs to qualified vendors and subcontractors and evaluate bids for best value.
• Calculate quantity take-offs, material prices, labor costs, equipment costs, and specialty items.
• Research historical data and prepare summary reports for estimating guidelines.
