Job summary

Blattner seeks an Estimator to support the development of competitive, technically sound proposals for utility-scale renewable energy projects. You will collaborate with Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Construction, and Project Management to develop conceptual electrical solutions from opportunity through contract award.

The role involves reviewing Owner RFPs, preparing quantity takeoffs, assisting with electrical estimates, coordinating with Engineers of Record, utilities, and vendors,

Qualifications

• A four-year degree in Construction, Engineering or related field, or combinations of related education and experience required.
• Two or more years of progressive related experience in the renewable construction industry (wind, solar, or battery storage) or four or more years of practical crew based estimating experience in other non-renewable construction industries.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Up to 25% of travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews specifications and drawings to determine scope of work, required estimate contents, and critical tasks.
• Develops a plan for building and scheduling the project and provides an explanation of methods used.
• Issues RFPs to qualified vendors to ensure proposals are evaluated prior to bid review, and evaluates quotes for best value.
• Calculates material, labor, and equipment costs; tracks data and prepares summary reports for estimates.
• Evaluates materials and services from qualified suppliers/subcontractors for technical and commercial merit.
• Identifies project risks and develops value engineering ideas to strengthen competitiveness.
