Job summary

solvenergy is seeking an experienced EPC Project Manager to oversee utility-scale solar projects from planning through close-out. You will lead self-performed work with large crews, manage schedules and costs, negotiate contracts, and drive safety and quality plans while maintaining strong relationships with Owners, Architects, and subs.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural Bachelor's degree preferred
• Field construction management experience (5-8 years, including supervisory skills)
• Leadership ability - able to pull together team members from diverse backgrounds in a remote environment and organize them into a cohesive, high-performing project team.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office suite, as well as other industry-standard tools, such as Bluebeam Revu. CMiC experience a plus.
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
• Thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement and estimating)
• Strong understanding of: Utility-scale PV plant construction means, methods, sequencing, and techniques
• Understanding of utility & ISO interconnection sequence & durations
• Able to travel extensively (minimum 50%) including lengthy jobsite-based assignments in remote / rural areas.
• Able to build trust and rapport with all SOLV departments for benefit of projects
• Organizational and communication skills; must have strong people skills.
• Detail-oriented, motivated self-starter

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and take responsibility for self-performed work with large crews; plan sequencing, crew sizes and monthly labor spend
• Develop safety plans and implement safety procedures with the Superintendent
• Oversee project billings; maximize cash flow and reduce pay cycles; monitor aged receivables in Owner meetings
• Present and negotiate change orders with owner for timely resolution
• Negotiate subcontract and material purchases
• Set up and implement job procedures for buyout, shop drawing approval and material delivery
• Keep project on schedule
• Maintain timely reporting on cost forecasting and EAC
• Manage and mentor project team per company policy
• Review contract terms and ensure compliance
• Document significant project events; accidents, delays, COs
• Direct preconstruction services and activities
• Negotiate and issue subcontract bid packages
• Manage project risk and mitigation plans with team
• Maintain Site-Specific Quality Management Plan (SSQMP)
• Avoid or mitigate claims and conflict
• Complete all close-out procedures
• Conduct warranty follow-up (2-year typical)
• Complete project with full or enhanced fee
• Build relations with Owner, Architect, Subcontractors; ensure prompt owner notification of impacts and rights per Prime Contract
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and logistics solutions
• Coordinate with local Contract Labor Providers for manpower on competitive terms
• Lead regular meetings with Owner and key partners
