Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Software QA and Support Engineer to join our Software Engineering Team. This role focuses on testing our custom software for utility-scale projects, coordinating with developers and product teams, and delivering high-quality support to internal customers.

Fully remote or hybrid with regular office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, Oregon; location details discussed at interview. You will build test cases, automate where possible, and help drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience testing software applications, identifying bugs, validating features against product requirements.
• Experience writing automated tests for TypeScript or Python code bases.
• 5+ years of software QA testing.

Responsibilities

• Achieve an expert level understanding of our custom software features, integrations, and usage.
• Prioritize and manage testing work using Jira and release timelines.
• Coordinate with developers and product team members to validate features.
• Perform functional, regression, negative, and ad-hoc testing with QA teammates.
• Write comprehensive test cases for functional scenarios.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing through automation and AI.
• Maintain test environments and basic Git/GitHub workflows.
• Provide first-line and 2nd-tier support, document issues and reproduce bugs in Jira.
• Monitor support channels and maintain clear ticket records through resolution.
• Identify recurring issues and document known fixes to reduce future tickets.
