Job summary

Cognitive Medical Systems is seeking a Software Development Test Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design and execute manual and automated tests for web and mobile apps, including REST APIs, UI, and accessibility testing (508).

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in QA, automation scripting with Groovy/Java, Postman, and be comfortable integrating AI Copilot into tests. You will collaborate with agile teams to ensure secure, reliable software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of software QA experience, including manual and automated testing.
• Proficiency in automation scripting languages such as Groovy and Java, with the ability to design and maintain scalable, reusable test scripts.
• Experience testing web and mobile applications.
• Familiarity with REST API testing and tools such as Postman.
• Proficiency in SQL and ability to validate data integrity.
• Experience with accessibility testing tools and standards (e.g., Lighthouse, Axe, JAWS, NVDA).
• Strong understanding of Agile development environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain automated test suites and test cases for CI/CD.
• Conduct manual and automated testing of REST APIs and user interfaces.
• Develop and enhance test‑automation frameworks in Groovy and Java.
• Can use AI Copilot to help create and update automation testing.
• Develop and execute test plans and cases for web and mobile apps.
• Perform end-to-end testing including functional, regression, and accessibility testing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define acceptance criteria.
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and QA process improvements.
• Ensure testing aligns with security protocols and organizational standards.
• Stay current on QA, accessibility, and security trends.
