Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join the US team remotely for a 12-week program. You will work with experienced engineers on modernizing and expanding Lyric's payment integrity platform, APIs, and cloud-based services.

You will gain hands-on experience with .NET, front-end tech, databases, testing, and AI-assisted development while learning to evaluate AI-generated code with human judgment and participate in Agile sprints. Prior professional experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s program in a technical field with third-year completion before start.
• Coursework in programming, data structures, algorithms, databases, or related CS topics.
• Foundational programming experience from coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with at least one modern language: C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, testing, and delivery of Lyric's healthcare platform.
• Assist with RESTful APIs, microservices, .NET, databases, cloud tech, and web apps.
• Develop front-end topics using Angular, React, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Gain SQL Server experience and data modeling, queries, and performance considerations.
• Explore AI-assisted development tools and apply human judgment to AI-generated output.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD, and modern testing practices.
• Learn secure software practices for handling healthcare data.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, UX, DevOps, QA, and others to translate requirements into software.
• Document work clearly and present outcomes to leadership at internship end.
