Job summary

Lyric is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for a 12-week program, remote in the US. You will work on modernizing our payment integrity platform, APIs, and cloud-based services, contributing to full-stack development, testing, and AI-assisted software tooling.

The role targets students who have completed their third year in CS/SE/CE or related fields, with no required prior professional experience. You will learn secure coding, code reviews, and how AI tools integrate into engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field
• Expected to have completed the third year of undergraduate study prior to the start of the internship
• Familiarity with at least one modern programming language such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, or a comparable object-oriented language
• Foundational programming experience from coursework, projects, or hackathons
• Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, testing, and delivery of software
• Develop and test RESTful APIs and microservices
• Contribute to front-end development using Angular, React, JavaScript, or TypeScript
• Learn cloud technologies (Azure and/or AWS)
• Participate in code reviews and Agile development
• Develop automated unit and integration tests
• Identify, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues
• Maintain technical documentation and communicate results to leadership
