Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s in CS/SE/CE/IT or related field
• Must have completed the third year of undergraduate study before start
• Completed coursework in programming, data structures, algorithms, databases, or related CS disciplines
• Foundational programming experience from coursework, projects or hackathons
• Familiar with at least one modern language: C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++
• Foundational understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, and software dev principles
• Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Familiar with Git/GitHub
• Interest in using AI in the software development lifecycle with validation
• No prior professional software engineering experience required

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, testing, and delivery of Lyric's software platform
• Work on modernization initiatives involving .NET, APIs, databases, cloud technologies
• Develop and test RESTful APIs and microservices for scalable architecture
• Contribute to front-end development using Angular, React, JavaScript, or TypeScript
• Gain experience with SQL Server and data modeling, queries, performance, and integrity
• Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation
• Learn to evaluate AI-generated code and apply human judgment
• Participate in code reviews and learn best practices in architecture, testing, and performance
• Develop automated unit and integration tests and learn CI/CD practices
• Identify and resolve defects and performance issues
• Gain exposure to Azure and/or AWS and cloud deployment practices
• Learn observability, logging, monitoring, and telemetry practices
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, UX, DevOps, QA to translate requirements into software
• Apply secure software development practices protecting healthcare and customer data
• Participate in Agile development and maintain technical documentation
• Complete a defined internship project and present outcomes to leadership
