Job summary

Lyric seeks a Software Engineer Intern for a 12-week remote US program. You will contribute to modernizing our .NET stack, APIs, and cloud-based services while gaining hands-on experience across full-stack development, databases, and AI-assisted coding tools.

Interns collaborate with experienced engineers, participate in agile practices, and learn how to evaluate AI-generated code with human oversight while delivering solid software solutions in a healthcare tech environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master’s degree in CS/Software Engineering/CE or related field.
• Completion of university coursework in programming, data structures, algorithms, and databases.
• Foundational programming experience from coursework or projects; no prior professional work required.
• Familiarity with at least one modern language (C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++) or similar OO language.
• Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL; familiarity with Git/GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, testing, and delivery of Lyric's software platform.
• Work on modernization initiatives involving .NET, APIs, databases, and cloud technologies.
• Develop and test RESTful APIs and microservices for scalable architecture.
• Contribute to front-end work using Angular, React, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Gain experience with SQL Server and data modeling, queries, and performance.
• Learn to use AI-assisted development tools and assess AI-generated code with human judgment.
• Participate in code reviews and CI/CD practices; collaborate across teams.
