Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field
• Expected to have completed the third year of undergraduate studies before start
• Completed coursework in programming, software development, data structures, algorithms, databases, or related CS disciplines
• Foundational programming experience from coursework/projects/hackathons/research
• Familiar with at least one modern language such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, or similar
• Foundational understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, and software development principles
• Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Familiar with Git/GitHub
• Interest in using AI in the software development lifecycle with validation of AI output
• No prior professional software engineering experience required

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, testing, and delivery of Lyric's healthcare platform software
• Work on modernization initiatives involving .NET, APIs, databases, cloud technologies, and web apps
• Assist with RESTful APIs and microservices for scalable architecture
• Contribute to front-end development using Angular/React/JavaScript/TypeScript
• Gain exposure to SQL Server and data modeling, queries, and performance
• Use AI-assisted tools to support coding, debugging, testing, and documentation
• Learn to evaluate AI-generated code with human judgment
• Participate in code reviews and learn engineering practices
• Develop automated unit and integration tests and CI/CD practices
• Identify and resolve defects and performance issues
• Gain exposure to Azure and/or AWS cloud environments
• Learn observability, logging, monitoring, and telemetry
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, UX, DevOps, QA
• Apply secure development practices for healthcare data
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and maintain technical docs
• Complete internship project and present results to leadership
