Job summary

ECPI University is seeking an Online Software Development Academic Support Specialist to assist students in our online CS courses. This remote, part-time role requires evenings and weekends availability.

You will work one-to-one with students, reinforce core CS concepts, and help with labs and projects, while using tools like GitHub and Visual Studio to guide learning and skill development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science-related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• 1–2 years relevant work experience within the past 5 years required.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OOP, and SQL.
• Experience with Git/GitHub and Visual Studio.
• Ability to tutor, mentor, and guide students in labs and projects.

Responsibilities

• Work 1-to-1 with students to help develop academic skills and complete coursework.
• Engage with tutoring strategies: active listening, note-taking, questions, encouragement.
• Coach students on study skills: reading, organization, time management.
• Provide academic technology support and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop and gather resources (videos, documents, articles) for student learning.
• Document session notes in the learning management system.
• Support faculty and provide feedback on curriculum updates.
