Job summary

ECPI University is seeking an Online Electronics Engineering Technology Adjunct Faculty to teach in our ABET-accredited programs. Candidates must support evenings and weekends in five-week terms, delivering practical, hands-on instruction and industry-aligned content.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field, with relevant experience in Multisim, LabVIEW, CAD, and PLCs; strong communication and mentoring skills are

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field with 18 graduate semester hours; Ph.D. preferred.
  • Experience with Multisim and LabVIEW; familiarity with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
  • 3–5 years industry experience; 7+ years preferred; within last 5 years.
  • Mechatronics candidates should have control systems, instrumentation and mechanical systems strengths.
  • Relevant technical certification or licensure if required.
  • Areas of focus include Analog & Digital Electronics, PLCs, Microcontrollers, FPGAs, Communication Systems, Robotics & Smart Manufacturing, CAD.

Responsibilities

  • Teach online Electronics Engineering Technology courses; evenings and weekends.
  • Deliver five-week course content with practical, hands-on instruction.
  • Provide mentoring and faculty support to students.
  • Conduct one live session per week and one live office hour via Zoom.
  • Troubleshoot software or technical issues for students.

Description

We are looking for instructors to teach in our undergraduate Electronics Engineering Technology programs. This would be an ideal position for an Electronics Engineering professional. No prior teaching experience is needed; we provide training, mentoring, and ongoing faculty support.

The School of Engineering Technology offers ABET accredited Baccalaureate degree programs in Electronic Systems Engineering Technology with concentrations in Mechatronics and Electronics.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline from a regionally accredited educational institution; Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Experience:

Familiarity with Multisim and Labview software; experience with Siemens and Allen‑Bradley PLCs

Familiarity with CAD software

3-5 years industry experience in an electrical and/or manufacturing engineering field required; 7+ years career industry experience preferred.

Industry experience must be within the last 5 years.

Mechatronics candidates should have a strong background in control systems, instrumentation and measurements, and mechanical systems

Appropriate technical certification or licensure (if required)

Required Skills:

  • The highest levels of integrity at all times.
  • Ability to quickly build connections with students using strong interpersonal skills (including approachability and empathy).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a 5-week accelerated course environment
  • Comfortable being first point of contact to troubleshoot software or technical concerns for students.

Online Faculty Technical Requirements:

  • Reliable high-speed internet required
  • Responsible for supplying your own windows-based computer and webcam.
  • Your computer system must pass the ECPI University minimum requirements test.
  • Required to teach one live session each week and hold one live office hour per week via Zoom
