Zusammenfassung

PayJunction is searching for a Software Architect to design and build enterprise features and payment integrations used by partners to move billions of dollars annually. You will take open-ended problems from a blank page to production while continuing to write Java.

The role emphasizes hands-on ownership of critical production systems and PCI-compliant design. You will work in a culture that values craftsmanship, with a Flex First approach allowing Santa Barbara office or remote work.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of professional software engineering with production ownership.
• 5+ years of Java with web frameworks and the JVM ecosystem.
• Production experience with AWS, Linux (Ubuntu/Debian), relational databases (MySQL preferred), CI/CD (Jenkins), infrastructure as code (Puppet), and observability tooling (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Designed and operated a high-availability transactional system where downtime or data loss had direct financial or customer impact.
• Experience using AI coding assistants or agents in day-to-day production work.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent applied experience.

Aufgaben

• Design and build enterprise features and payment integrations for partners.
• Translate open-ended problems from a blank page to production while coding in Java.
• Write production Java every sprint and review PRs with a strong test strategy.
• Keep core platform processor-agnostic and optimize processor integrations for reliability and PCI scope.
• Raise delivery velocity with AI-assisted development and set security guardrails for AI-generated code.
