PayJunction is seeking a Software Architect to design and build enterprise features and payment integrations our partners rely on, taking open-ended problems from a blank page to production while still writing Java yourself.

You will stay hands-on, write production Java every sprint, design for reliability and PCI scope, and lead AI-assisted development. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of software engineering, 5+ years of Java, AWS/Linux, MySQL, and a BS in Computer Science.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering with production ownership.
• 5+ years of Java experience, web frameworks, JVM ecosystem.
• Experience with AWS, Linux, relational databases, CI/CD, and IaC.

Responsabilités

• Design and build enterprise features and payment integrations.
• Stay hands-on, write production Java every sprint and review PRs.
• Design for reliability and PCI scope, define SLOs and monitoring.
• Lead AI-assisted development with guardrails for security and quality.
