Job summary

Advocate Health is offering a remote social media internship for college students in Social Media, Reputation and External Communications. The role covers content creation, design, writing copy and analytics, supporting organizational strategies across multiple units.

Interns will gain exposure to campaigns, messaging, and external communications initiatives. Schedule is 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri during business hours, May 31, 2027 to August 6, 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, marketing, brand, digital content, or related field.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce social media posts for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, with graphics, copy and video.
• Monitor social activity on Advocate Health branded accounts (reviews, messages, comments).
• Design graphics for Pinterest and Instagram and infographics for healthenews.
• Assist with social and digital marketing campaigns.
• Draft and edit press releases, pitches, talking points, fact sheets and announcements.
• Identify compelling stories highlighting initiatives, employees and community impact.
• Adapt messaging for different audiences and channels.
• Support external communications initiatives and editorial skills development.
• Build relationships with department managers to enhance business acumen.
• Ideate social media initiatives and contribute to events or on-site activations.
