Job summary

Advocate Health is offering a remote, summer internship focused on Social Media, Reputation and External Communications. The intern will create content for multiple platforms, monitor engagement, and assist with campaigns and press materials.

The role provides exposure to brand journalism and analytics while supporting various departments in achieving communications goals. The program runs May 31, 2027 through August 6, 2027, with up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a junior or senior in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Marketing, or related field.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Good attention to detail and teamwork.
• Proficient in MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Produce social media posts for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
• Monitor branded social activity including reviews, comments, and messages.
• Design graphics for Pinterest and Instagram and infographics for healthenews.
• Assist with social and digital marketing campaign initiatives.
• Draft and edit press releases and other communications materials.
• Identify compelling stories highlighting initiatives and community impact.
• Adapt messaging for different audiences and channels.
• Support editorial initiatives and improve writing skills.
• Develop relationships with managers and department members.
• Potential to attend on-site social media events.
• Research healthcare and industry trends.
• Assist with communications plans for announcements and campaigns.
• Translate provided content into concise original copy for newsletters, video and web.
• Ensure copy tone aligns with brand guidelines and proofread work.
• Exposure to creative marketing, video production, and asset creation.
• Collaborate with health enews projects with physicians and clinicians.
