OpenKrill, operating as a partner company, seeks a Controller - Financial Solutions based in the United States. You will serve as a trusted financial advisor, guiding small to mid-size businesses with strategic financial insights, budgeting, and compliance in a remote-first environment.

You will lead financial reviews, manage complex accounting matters, and collaborate with accounting teams to deliver high-quality services that improve profitability and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• Approximately 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience with controller-level responsibilities.
• Strong ability to interpret financial statements, analyze KPIs, evaluate budgets and forecasts, and communicate financial insights.
• Thorough understanding of month-end and year-end close processes, accounting best practices, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience advising small businesses, ideally in inventory-based retail, e-commerce, creative or project-based businesses, or technology startups.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary trusted financial advisor for assigned clients, leading financial review meetings and providing strategic recommendations.
• Guide clients and internal accounting professionals through complex accounting matters, financial reporting decisions, and compliance considerations.
• Analyze financial statements, KPIs, budgets, and forecasts to identify risks, opportunities, and profitability improvements.
• Collaborate with accountants, bookkeepers, and CFOs to ensure accurate, timely accounting deliverables.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support on complex financial matters.
