Job summary

MatX is seeking a Methodology Engineer in Mountain View to build and run automation that enforces our silicon development process, from linting to signoff, making it cheap and reliable for engineers. You will connect strong team procedures with automated checks and dashboards.

You will design verification tooling, develop shared infrastructure for RTL, DV, and CAD teams, and apply AI-writing standards to our methodology. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Proficient Python production code and at least one other language such as Rust.
• Experience with CI systems (GitHub Actions) and large-repo build tools (Bazel).
• Experience with silicon tapeouts and signoff verification checks.
• Strong written communication to explain rules clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design-quality and verification tooling: build and maintain linters, static checks, and schema-driven records.
• Signoff evidence and reporting: turn CI, regression, and verification results into dashboards and reports.
• Exceptions and waivers: build tooling that keeps exceptions owned, justified, and current.
• Shared verification infrastructure: develop libraries and flows used by RTL, verification, and physical design teams.
• Standards for AI-written work: apply rules to AI-produced work and collaborate on enforcement checks.
• Continuous improvement: review escaped bugs and refine checks to reduce steps.
