Cherry Creek School District seeks a Severe Needs Para Educator to assist students with severe special education needs under licensed staff direction. You will support individual and small groups, adapt curriculum, and track progress in both classroom and remote settings.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP-mandated accommodations, preparing instructional materials, and maintaining records. Some duties involve moderate physical tasks and collaboration with a school team.

Formación

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Title I assignments: two years of college or an associate degree, or demonstrated knowledge of math/reading/writing readiness.
• Mandatory Crisis Prevention Intervention training provided by the District.
• Medication administration training as needed.
• Basic knowledge of standard office equipment.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate interpersonal relations skills.
• Intermediate organizational skills.
• Ability to work alone and with others.
• Ability to modify curriculum as needed.
• Ability to implement behavior modification techniques.
• Ability to deescalate and manage volatile situations.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Work one-on-one and in small groups with students.
• If DHH, understand hearing loss impacts learning; if Homebound, maintain professional boundaries with families.

Responsabilidades

• Assist students with classroom activities and adapt curriculum for individual needs.
• Implement IEP accommodations and maintain progress/behavior records with licensed staff.
• Prepare materials, administer tests, and assist with attendance and related tasks.
• Assist with other classroom events (e.g., fire drills) as needed.
• Support online learning: assist with technology, curriculum reinforcement, and assignments.
• Prepare at-home assignments and help students complete work.
• Maintain student progress records and observations for IEP reports.
• Troubleshoot basic technology issues for students.
