Job summary

Cherry Creek School District seeks a Severe Needs Para Educator to support students with severe disabilities under licensed staff. You will assist with curriculum, skill development, behavior strategies, and assignment completion, in both in-person and remote settings.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, monitoring progress, maintaining records, providing physical care as needed, and helping ensure a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• HSE diploma or equivalent
• No professional experience required
• Title I requirements: two years of college or associate degree or demonstrated knowledge
• Crisis Prevention Intervention training required
• Medication administration training provided by District as needed
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate interpersonal skills
• Intermediate organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Ability to modify curriculum and implement behavior techniques
• Ability to manage challenging behaviors and maintain confidentiality
• Work one-on-one and in small groups with students
• DHH program considerations for language development
• Homebound program boundaries with families when in home settings

Responsibilities

• Assist students with classroom activities and adapt curriculum to individual needs.
• Implement IEP accommodations and track progress in collaboration with licensed staff.
• Prepare materials, administer tests, manage attendance, and assist with documentation.
• Support classroom events such as fire drills and routine activities.
• Follow behavioral strategies and provide de-escalation when needed.
• Assist in online/remote learning environments and technology troubleshooting.
