Job summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking a Service Engineer to support customers remotely from home with regional travel to Michigan worksites. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high‑precision CMM systems and related equipment in customer environments.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software issues, provide training, and document service activities while collaborating with support and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Must be located in Michigan.
• Technical degree in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, Mechatronics, or related field, or Military Technical School training and experience.
• Hands-on experience using hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting capabilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to regularly lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Prior experience with CMM equipment or industrial automation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain CMM systems at customer locations.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software-related system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical training and operational guidance to customers on machine operation and preventative maintenance.
• Accurately document service activities and submit detailed service reports.
• Partner cross-functionally with technical support and engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
• Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction while managing service schedules effectively.
• Travel throughout the Northeast territory (up to 100%) to support customer needs.
• Lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted and work a minimum of 40 hours per week, including overtime as required to meet customer needs.
