Job summary

AppGate is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to own the technical engagement from first meeting through win. You will uncover business problems, define requirements, design target-state architectures, and articulate the business value of AppGate ZTNA to technical and executive audiences.

You will collaborate with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Implementation and partners to propose complex integrated solutions, hand off to PoC/PoV teams, and mentor other SEs while supporting upgrades and new

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a Sales Engineer or equivalent customer-facing technical role in cybersecurity
• 3+ years with ZTNA, SASE, remote access VPN or network security solutions
• Expert-level TCP/IP networking knowledge (routing, NAT, DNS, firewall policy)
• Deep knowledge of authentication protocols and services (AD/LDAP, RADIUS, SAML, OIDC, MFA)
• Experience designing connectivity to public cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Hands-on experience with NGFW, VPNs, NAC
• Proficiency with Linux and scripting against RESTful APIs (Python/PowerShell/JS)
• Executive presence and ability to communicate technical value to executives

Responsibilities

• Leads discovery to identify business problems, requirements and constraints
• Partners with Account Executives on strategic account planning and technical-win strategy
• Hands off documented drivers to Solutions Architect and supports evaluation to technical win
• Designs AppGate ZTNA architectures, including placement, HA, identity integration and policy model
• Sizes solutions and develops technical configuration with internal approvals
• Designs integrations with identity providers, EDR, SIEM and cloud services
• Provides technical and design continuity at handoff to implementation teams
• Leads technical presentations, workshops and demonstrations for audiences from engineers to CISOs
• Articulates AppGate differentiators against cloud-proxy ZTNA and VPN
• Serves as technical lead for RFP/RFI responses and security questionnaires
• Provides technical support at events and customer forums
• Mentors other SEs and delivers training and reusable assets
• Identifies novel ways to demonstrate new AppGate features
