Job summary

University of Maryland Global Campus seeks a Senior Certification Specialist to assist in processing, reconciling, and reporting VA educational benefits to the Department of Veterans Affairs. The SCS will work as part of a team to report student enrollment information to the VA, remotely.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and two years in higher education with preference in a Veterans Affairs office or advising.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Two years of experience at a higher education institution with preference in Veterans Affairs or Student Advising.
• Experience with PeopleSoft and Enrollment Manager; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review student records and enrollments in PeopleSoft and the VA Enrollment Manager system, ensuring VA rules are followed.
• Liaise with advising operations, Office of Financial Solutions, and other UMGC departments to resolve certification questions.
• Assist students in resolving VA education benefits issues with the VA.
• Coordinate with overseas contacts to process enrollment certifications.
• Adhere to SAA and VA regulations and office protocols to complete certification timely.
• Provide information about VA education benefits and serve as the first contact for escalations.
• Develop and maintain job aids and internal training materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning

Two years of experience at an institution of higher learning with preference in a college Veterans Affairs Office or Student Advising
