Qualifications

• 7+ years underwriting experience or exposure.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting function.
• Familiarity with John Hancock's businesses.

• Ability to prioritize under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Identify and provide solutions to work-related issues (workflow, systems).
• Negotiate and manage time and resources to meet deadlines and service times.
• Provide training and act as a resource for junior underwriters.
• Audit and review underwriting decisions, procedures and medical records.
• Support management with research on risk assessment and book of business reviews.
• Process formal underwriting appeals and complaints.
