Sentara Health Plan is hiring a Senior Underwriter for a remote role. You will underwrite high‑complexity employer groups, balance pricing and profitability, and apply deep claims- and actuarial-based pricing in Fully Insured and Self-Funded contexts.

You will mentor Underwriters/Trainees, support key cases and RFPs, and work with Sales, Actuarial, and Leadership to drive underwriting strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree REQUIRED.
• Underwriter – 7 years of experience REQUIRED.
• Health Plan experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites employer groups of high complexity, balancing competitiveness and profitability.
• Mentors Underwriters and Trainees, supports high-profile cases and RFPs, collaborates with Sales, Actuarial, and Leadership.
