Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks an experienced Senior Turbine Aerodynamicist to lead turbine aerodynamic design and analysis for both aircraft and industrial gas turbine products. The role includes system-wide ownership, long-term strategy, and collaboration with the Turbine Aerodynamics Design Board.

The position offers remote or onsite work with relocation support and a competitive base salary. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years relevant experience.
• Master’s degree with 14+ years relevant experience.
• PhD with 12+ years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• SME in turbine aerodynamic design and analysis across the product lifecycle.
• Promote systems thinking and risk mitigation with stakeholders.
• Mentor DEQ processes and apply producibility tools.
• Drive design and process improvements across domains and sites.
• Develop and maintain engineering/manufacturing practice manuals.
• Influence design boards with technology vision and trends.
• Lead issue resolution to meet customer/regulatory expectations.
• Optimize designs to maximize business value through collaboration.
• Coach and train early-career staff.
• Address strategic gaps in domain and site health.
• Foster psychological safety and inclusive leadership.
• Maintain calm, clear thinking under pressure.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics emphasis

Master’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics emphasis

PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics emphasis
