Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an experienced Senior Turbine Aerodynamicist to lead turbine design advancements for aircraft and industrial gas turbine products. The role involves strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring in design execution quality.

The position emphasizes expertise in turbomachinery aerodynamics, systems thinking, and solving complex engineering challenges while aligning with company objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery aerodynamics emphasis; 15+ years of relevant technical experience (US) or equivalent.
• Master’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery emphasis; 14+ years of relevant technical experience (US).
• PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with turbomachinery emphasis; 12+ years of relevant technical experience (US).
• Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in turbomachinery aerodynamics for European candidates; major relevant technical experience.

Responsibilities

• Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Turbine Aerodynamic Design and Analysis across product lifecycle.
• Promote systems thinking, risk mitigation, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Mentor others in DEQ processes and apply product/process improvement tools.
• Identify opportunities for improved designs, methods, processes, tools, or systems; manage risk.
• Develop and maintain Engineering or Manufacturing Practices Manuals.
