Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Project Manager to lead high voltage and EHV transmission line projects within the Power Delivery practice. The role emphasizes technical, schedule, quality, and financial performance while nurturing client relationships and marketing WSP's Power Delivery services in the South and Southwest region.

The position is based in Overland Park, KS and offers remote work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Management or related field within Power & Energy.
• 12+ years of post-education project management experience in Power Delivery/Utility.
• 5+ years leading engineering/construction teams on HV/EHV projects for utility clients.
• 5+ years experience guiding engineering/construction teams for HV/EHV projects.
• Familiar with PM processes: Contract management, meeting management, Earned Value, Change, Risk, Schedule (Primavera P6), and Financial Management.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills; capable of cross‑functional leadership.
• Willingness to travel to client offices and project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for high voltage and EHV Transmission Line projects, including budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs.
• Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and report project progress to clients.
• Guide pursuit activities, go/no-go decisions, contract reviews and risk mitigation.
• Lead contract negotiations and client presentations when required.
• Oversight of QA/QC and technical reviews, and assignment of qualified staff.
• Provide strategic inputs to multi‑disciplinary project teams and key clients.
• Mentor and manage assigned staff; ensure proper project documentation and risk tracking.
• Maintain regular client communications, monthly reporting and scope/budget updates.
• Coordinate resources and subcontracting with area/technical managers; support project closeout.
