Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team on a full-time remote basis to support large transportation projects across the nation. You will design traffic engineering plans and reports, including signal design, signing, striping, lighting, and traffic control, while coordinating with teams nationwide.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in traffic/transportation engineering, strong CAD skills (MicroStation/AutoCAD), familiarity with HCM, MUTCD, SIDRA, and PE or PTOE credentials

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field) required.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD and other PC software common to traffic engineering.
• Microstation or AutoCAD proficiency required.
• Familiarity with HCM, MUTCD, and Signal Warrant studies.
• SYCHRO, HCS, VISSIM, and SIDRA expertise required.
• Roadway lighting design knowledge desirable but not required.
• PE registration preferred and PTOE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of engineers and technicians to design and produce traffic engineering plans and reports.
• Deliver traffic signal design, signing, striping, lighting and traffic control plans with quantity tabulation.
• Assist with corridor studies, traffic impact studies, and operational analyses.
• Provide support for other engineering activities; may supervise subordinates.
• Lead engineer for a specific discipline on small to intermediate projects.
• Provide input to CAD Designers and other engineers.
• Contribute to Parsons’ QA/QC procedures per project quality management plan.
