Job summary

Parsons seeks a Senior Project Manager – Traffic Engineering to lead traffic engineering and transportation operations projects across Southern California and beyond. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, guide studies, and maintain strong client relationships with public agencies and private sector clients.

The role emphasizes business development, proposal activities, and delivering practical mobility solutions, while collaborating with planners, engineers, and ITS specialists.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in traffic engineering or related fields.
• Experience with traffic operations, signal systems, ITS, and corridor studies.
• Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, budget, and client expectations.
• Experience with business development, proposals, and interview presentations.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic engineering and transportation operations projects across Southern California from initiation to delivery.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams; support traffic impact studies and ITS projects.
• Serve as primary client contact; maintain long-term client relationships.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and contracts.
• Support business development opportunities and client expansions.
• Oversee analyses, microsimulation modeling, and multimodal performance assessments.
• Coordinate with planning, design, environmental, and technology teams.
• Mentor traffic engineering staff and promote technical excellence.
• Represent Parsons at client meetings and industry conferences.
