Job summary

Avalara is hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead onboarding modernization and AI-driven automation across five onboarding pipelines. You will collaborate with operations, product, and engineering to replace manual handoffs with smart automations and scalable systems.

You will define end-to-end value streams, establish KPIs, and guide adoption. This is a remote-friendly role requiring deep TPM and AI automation expertise across a fast-growing SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.
• 10+ years of progressive TPM or related senior engineering/architecture experience.
• Experience leading large cross-functional workflow optimization programs and system integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding modernization and AI-first automation initiatives across multiple onboarding pipelines.
• Architect intelligent automations integrating LLMs, OCR, RPA, and agentic workflows.
• Map value streams and identify friction points, technical debt, and delays.
• Define KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to guide prioritization and executive alignment.
• Translate operational requirements into technical specs, epics, and user stories for engineers.
• Establish governance, validation, exception handling, and data integrity for automated workflows.
• Own end-to-end adoption and change management across onboarding teams.

Education

B.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
