Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Sr Territory Manager for the Commercial Lines Middle Market Business Development team in Ohio. You will market, manage and underwrite complex commercial business with select agencies, driving profit and premium through strategic plans and negotiations.

You will influence agencies, develop sales processes, and deliver robust business plans, while partnering with leadership to achieve growth, profitability and retention goals in a dynamic, nationwide framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• CPCU or CIC designation preferred.
• Ten years of underwriting and sales experience in commercial lines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor market conditions and competitive landscape to inform strategy.
• Research risk, environment and factors necessary to win accounts.
• Analyze risks underwritten and prepare reports.
• Review agency books of business and growth trends; propose action plans.
• Assess regional underwriting performance and collaborate on territory action plans.
• Underwrite and quote complex or service-sensitive accounts; drive production and profitability.
• Lead agency relationships and strategic sales to improve retention and growth.
• Coordinate with team to deliver service levels and drive revenue objectives.
