Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to provide production support for complex cloud systems in a remote-capable role within the Veterans Affairs program.

The role requires extensive AWS/Azure experience, Linux/Windows mastery, automation, and strong CI/CD skills. Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to maintain system stability and security in a U.S.-based environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in CS/IT/SE or related field.
• 8+ years in systems engineering or production environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level operational support for complex cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools.
• Work with customers in day-to-day activities and escalate issues when required.
• Maintain inventory of system assets and ensure compliance with VA standards.
