Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for a 100% remote U.S. based position with the Veterans Affairs (VA) department. The role focuses on operational support of cloud-based applications, automation, and secure, compliant infrastructure.

You will work with AWS/Azure, Linux/Unix, Windows, and scripting to maintain production systems and deliver incident resolution. Strong collaboration and on-call readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in systems engineering or related field, with production environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and large-scale production systems.
• Strong Linux/Unix and Windows operating system knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Detect, isolate, document, and rapidly report outages; recover systems.
• Document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools.
• Work directly with the customer in day-to-day activities and on-call support.
