Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior/Lead Structural Engineer for our Power team. This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States, with opportunities to lead design and analysis across high-voltage substations and transmission projects.

You will supervise project teams, coordinate with discipline leads, prepare drawings and calculations, and manage schedules and procurement activities. A PE license in CA and 10+ years in power-structural design are preferred.

Qualifications

10+ years in structural engineering for power/utility projects.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and CA PE license.
Experience with transmission station structures and overhead transmission lines ≥115 kV.
Experience in heavy industrial structures (steel, concrete, wood, masonry) preferably in power industry.
Strong software skills: AutoCAD, STAAD, SFrame, RISA, LPILE, PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole & Tower, SAGSEC, CAISSON.

Responsibilities

Supervise groups of professionals or small teams in the Power sector to execute projects.
Coordinate with discipline leads, PMs, vendors, and clients for design and construction.
Maintain project timelines and document tracking.
Prepare and verify design drawings and calculations.
Oversee procurement activities and evaluate supplier bids.
Perform inspections for procurement of material.
Monitor budgets and schedule, reporting status regularly.
