Job summary

PRI, SAE ITC and SAE International seek a Principal Engineer to provide technical and engineering leadership for standards development, technical reports, and qualification programs. You will facilitate working groups, develop industry guidance, and coordinate responses to ensure timely, high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities include planning and leading technical meetings, preparing materials, and presenting results for industry coordination.

Qualifications

• 6 years' experience in automotive or automated vehicle engineering, project management, project engineering, or technical management roles.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, science, or business management.
• Technical/engineering expertise with experience in standards use, development, or auditing (automotive industry preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills with writing, editing, and presentation abilities.
• Ability to organize effectively, carry out independent action, and handle confidential matters.
• Strong project management skills and global/cultural awareness.
• Attention to detail and strong teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of trade association operations.

Responsibilities

• Applies job specific technical/ engineering expertise in project management and product development; facilitates task groups.
• Develop proposals for statements of work for new and revised standards & technical reports.
• Plan, conduct, and coordinate technical meetings and sessions; prepare minutes and agendas.
• Coordinate industry guidance, standards and reports; respond to industry comments.
• Provide technical oversight report generation/assessment with confidentiality and compliance.
• Support subcommittees/work groups with planning, logistics, and reporting.
• Support program communications; assist in marketing materials and conference coordination.
• Assist with program strategy alignment to deadlines, goals, and milestones.
