Job summary

SAE Industry Technologies Consortia (ITC) leads standards and technical report development, supporting industry guidance and certification programs. The Principal Engineer manages working groups, facilitates industry collaboration, and helps implement strategic programs across SAE ITC, PRI and SAE.

Strong PM, engineering leadership and communication are essential. Travel up to 30% for technical conferences and committee sessions, with a focus on meeting deadlines and quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, quality, science, or business management.
• Master’s degree preferred in engineering, science, quality, finance, or business management.
• Strong technical/engineering expertise in standards use, development, or auditing (automotive/automotive industry preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate task groups to develop industry guidance, standards, and technical reports.
• Develop proposals for statements of work for new or revised standards and reports.
• Plan and conduct technical meetings, prepare materials and present results to industry.
• Provide technical oversight reports, review and update reports, and ensure timely release of documents.
• Coordinate meeting agendas/minutes and support subcommittees and working groups.
