Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to guide a high-performing team delivering innovative IT applications. This fully remote role with 10% travel leads engineering across multiple projects, aligning with delivery and product managers to ensure scalable, high-quality solutions that meet business needs.

You will drive engineering excellence, recruit top talent, and advance the software lifecycle while making an impact in Medicaid technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Technical Medicaid experience (3-5 years) required.
• Technical leadership and project management experience.
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive results.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction to the software engineers within the IT Applications Development team.
• Define priorities in pursuit of the Software Engineering vision and goals.
• Ensure staff follow best practices around SDLC, design, and integration.
• Lead hiring, performance management, and staff development.
• Collaborate with delivery and product managers to support product delivery and enhancements.
• Drive engineering recruiting and retention of high-caliber talent.
• Manage geographically distributed staff to maximize utilization.
• Provide tools, training, and resources to meet project needs.
