Maximus is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead a high-performing team in delivering innovative IT applications within the Medicaid technology space. This remote role involves guiding multiple projects and collaborating with delivery and product managers to ensure scalable, high-quality solutions.

The position emphasizes strategic direction, staff leadership, and rapid continuous improvement across the software lifecycle, with 10% travel and strong emphasis on talent

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering/management.
• Experience with project management planning (1-3 years) is required.
• Technical Medicaid experience (3-5 years) is required.
• Maintenance & Operation (M&O) experience is required.
• Technical leadership experience is required.
• Continuing process improvement experience is preferred.
• Managing cross-functional teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction to the Software Engineering team for design, development, and integration.
• Define priorities aligned with the Software Engineering practice vision and goals.
• Ensure best practices across lifecycle and architecture.
• Lead hiring, performance management, and staff development.
• Partner with delivery and product managers to drive product delivery and enhancements.
• Recruit and retain top engineering talent across distributed teams.
