Job summary

ServiceTrade is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Accounting Integrations to own and evolve high-volume, event-driven integration work with external accounting platforms. You will design REST APIs, serverless workflows on AWS, and mentor engineers while ensuring performance and reliability across our financial integrations.

You'll collaborate with product and data teams to scale our platform for thousands of contractors, implementing AI-assisted tooling where appropriate and delivering robust,

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js; Familiarity with Python for data-focused backend systems is a plus.
• AWS infrastructure experience, including Lambda, SQS/DLQs, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB/DocumentDB. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and event-driven systems.
• A proactive approach to identifying and solving technical challenges with a focus on performance and scalability.
• AI-Assisted Development: Practical experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate delivery — and the judgment to review, test, and own the output.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, testing, and maintenance of scalable integration architectures using JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
• Design robust REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven AWS serverless workflows to sync data with external accounting platforms.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in advanced software engineering.
• Diagnose complex system issues and pursue root causes to resolution.
• Own the scalable codebase for complex accounting integrations and other products as needed.
