Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a senior SCADA Design Lead to own in-house monitoring and control system designs for utility-scale solar, BESS, and wind projects.

You will work in AutoCAD, Visio, and related tools to produce comprehensive diagrams, BOMs, and wiring layouts, ensuring SOLV design standards are upheld. You will mentor engineers, drive standardization, and collaborate with OT teams for hardware requirements while supporting commissioning, FATs, and project handoffs to ensure long-term

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or energy engineering is preferred.
• Industrial or utility scale PV solar, BESS or Wind experience is desired.
• Direct experience in SCADA engineering.
• Direct experience drafting drawings for SCADA, networking, electrical or substation designs.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Advanced knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking concepts.
• Advanced knowledge of SCADA networks using Fiber Optics, RS-232/RS-485 and Ethernet.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial automation protocols and control diagrams.
• Experience with power plant operating procedures and interactions with governing bodies.
• Ability to work with sub-contractors and field personnel.
• Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and task management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex SCADA design workstreams for utility-scale PV, BESS, and other projects.
• Own in-house SCADA design of monitoring and control systems; develop, review, and approve design docs.
• Develop standards, diagrams, port maps, and BOMs for SCADA racks and enclosures.
• Provide senior design review of drawings and issue redlines.
• Mentor junior engineers and reinforce design standards.
• Collaborate with SOLV OT teams to define hardware requirements and mitigate risks.
• Drive standardization to reduce design and commissioning effort across projects.
• Generate project documentation in Visio and AutoCAD; create wiring diagrams and fiber routing.
• Prepare training materials and provide risk-based project updates.
• Lead customer-facing design reviews and FATs; interface with customers and 3rd party integrators.
• Support on-site commissioning, installation, and long-term system reliability.
