Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior Safety Verification and Validation Engineer for a 12-month remote contract. The role focuses on verifying and validating safety assessment models and software used in reactor safety analysis and licensing.

You will develop and assess benchmark models, ensure compliance with NRC RG 1.203, and support safety methodology development for next-generation nuclear systems, including Sodium Fast Reactors (SFR).

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in nuclear engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in nuclear safety engineering.
• Experience with NQA-1 quality assurance programs.

Responsibilities

• Verify and validate safety assessment models and software for reactor safety analysis.
• Develop and assess benchmark models and tests for safety evaluations.
• Assess evaluation models using NRC RG 1.203 guidance to ensure safety standards.
• Coordinate safety code verification/validation activities including simulations and benchmarking with IETs/SETs.
