Job summary

System One in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Senior Safety Methods Engineer for a 12-month contract to develop and qualify system-level thermal-hydraulic analysis methods for reactor safety and licensing.

You will run steady-state and transient analyses, integrate closure models, build automated workflows, document methodologies, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure traceability and reproducibility in line with SQA/NQA-1.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in system-level thermal-hydraulic modeling and method development.
• Experience with RELAP5 3D, GOTHIC, SAS, or similar tools.
• Strong foundation in thermal fluids and reactor system behavior.
• Experience with sensitivity analyses and gap identification.
• Knowledge of Python and MATLAB for workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop methods for Licensing Basis Event analyses and reactor licensing.
• Create automated workflows for model setup, execution, and post-processing.
• Document methodologies, assumptions, and numerical performance.
• Collaborate across disciplines to align methods with design and safety analysis.
• Apply SQA and NQA-1 practices for traceability and configuration control.
• Support method qualification through verification and performance characterization.
