Job summary

System One in Bellevue, WA seeks a Senior Nuclear Engineer focused on plant thermal hydraulics validation. This remote/offsite contract position supports verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification for plant-scale tools, with collaboration across design, safety, and licensing teams.

Requirements include a mechanical/nuclear/chemical engineering degree and 6+ years of system-thermal-hydraulics experience, plus hands-on data analysis and QA/NQA1 practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical Engineering or similar field.
• Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience (level 10).
• Experience with system-level thermal-hydraulic analysis and code assessment.
• Hands-on with experimental thermal-hydraulic data and uncertainty evaluation.
• Experience with RELAP5 3D, TRACE, SAS or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

• Support verification, validation and uncertainty analysis for plant-scale tools.
• Run system-level steady-state and transient simulations to evaluate models.
• Use experimental data to validate models and close technical gaps.
• Define validation needs and align with test engineering programs.
• Document V&V methodologies and traceability for QA and regulatory submittals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on design, safety, and licensing.
• Apply SQA and NQA1 quality practices across modeling workflows.
